There’s something about the rearview mirror.
It doesn’t tell you where you’re going—but it sure reminds you where you’ve been.
And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
See, in life, we’re wired to look forward. Hustle ahead. Chase the next goal, the next fix, the next milestone that’ll finally make us feel “caught up.”
But what if what we’re really searching for… isn’t ahead of us?
What if it’s already behind us—waiting to be acknowledged, understood, and accepted?
That’s what I’ve learned in my own journey. Not from a book. Not from a course. But from real life. From missed deadlines, moments of burnout, quiet breakdowns in the car between passengers… and small, stubborn wins no one else saw.
The rearview doesn’t lie.
It reflects the pain. The setbacks. The choices we wish we could redo.
But it also shows the progress.
The fact that you’re still here. Still showing up. Still trying.
And if you’re anything like me, that’s a reminder worth holding onto.
What I See in the Rearview
• The guy who hit rock bottom with his health—but didn’t stay there.
• The man who carried guilt for not being “perfect,” until he learned that progress was never supposed to look that way.
• The husband who broke, healed, and kept showing up for his wife and himself.
• The driver who once sat at a red light wondering if any of this even mattered… and found out, in a single moment, that it absolutely does.
Living 95 is about movement—not speed.
And sometimes the most meaningful movement comes from slowing down just long enough to glance backward… and realize how far you’ve come.
So wherever you are right now, don’t be afraid to check the rearview.
Not to live there—but to learn there.
Because maybe your next step forward starts with a little gratitude for the road behind you.
